FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 31, 2009) - Nationally renowned corporate and youth motivational speaker Scott Greenberg of Jump Start Performance Programs is offering discounted fees to avail himself to schools facing severe budget cuts.

Having already presented at many schools around the United States this year, Greenberg has seen first hand the impact of the economic downturn on education. “Schools have been devastated,” says the fulltime motivational speaker. “Programs are being cut, teachers are losing jobs and class sizes are increasing to record highs. Schools are in survival mode and in dire need of encouragement.”

One study released late last year by the American Association of School Administrators outlines numerous cutbacks severely impacting school morale such as altering thermostats, delaying maintenance, and eliminating field trips and student activities. According to Greenberg, these cuts will significantly hinder students’ ability and desire to learn.

“In the best of times schools are severely underfunded and emotionally challenging for adolescents. In times like these, they’re downright depressing. We can’t just educate our kids – we must inspire them.”

Greenberg will address issues of resilience, peak performance and work ethic. He will also speak on the importance of unity during crisis. “These messages are universal and timeless. Whether I’m talking to senior managers or seniors in high school, everyone needs to be reminded of their strength. I’ll adapt my style, humor and examples, but the core content is relevant to any age group or occupation.

Clients of Greenberg include Nike, the U.S. Department of the Interior and the Young Presidents’ Organization, but like many well-known motivational speakers, Scott began his career as a youth motivational speaker giving presentations to teenagers. “They are the toughest, most honest and most important groups I’ve ever addressed. They demand engagement and sincerity. Once you learn to connect with teens, you can present to anyone.”

Greenberg gives schools 50% discounts during his open dates and offers to speak at multiple schools on the same day to reduce each school’s cost even more. Funding is most often provided by grants, school improvement funds and outside sponsorship. In some instances, schools will fundraise or use student activity money not associated with the school’s general education funds.
